John L. Servick
John was born April 30, 1925, in Wayne Township to the late George J.
and Nellie Kobialka Servick.
John was married to the late June D. Currie for 39 years. They enjoyed many years traveling together all over the United States and Europe.
When in good health, John attended Harmony Baptist Church.
In his early years, he had worked on the railroad, Smith's Dairy, Sears and later the Copper and Brass Sales in Zelienople.
John loved to travel and went to 47 different states with his wife, and once drove to Alaska with his family.
He enjoyed fishing on his many trips to Florida. He was an avid small game and deer hunter.
John is survived by sisters-in-law, Louise Burr of Zelienople and Geraldine Garing of Evans City, Pennsylvania; nieces, Agnes Yeoman and Dorothy Mateja; and nephews, John Mitchell, Ted Chrobak, William Servick, Robert Servick, Stanley G. Germanski and Edwin Germanski. John always kept in close contact with each of them and they with him.
In addition to his parents and wife, June, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Stanley Servick; five sisters, Helen Servick, Mary Servick, Bernice Chrobak, Margaret Germanski and Josephine Mitchell Flyak; and nephew, David Servick.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Peter Everett from Grace Church of Harmony will officiate.
Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
Family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to Three Rivers Hospice, 26 Nesbit Road, Suite 2, New Castle, Pa. 16105.
