John P. Presnar Jr., 70, of North Beaver Township passed away the afternoon of Monday, May 22, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born on Nov. 6, 1946, in New Castle, he was a son of the late John P. Sr. and Mary V. Marks Presnar. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 48 years, the former Rosemarie Sisco, whom he married on May 3, 1969.
John graduated with the class of 1965 from New Castle High School.
John had worked as an equipment operator and in the pack house for Medusa Cement and Cemex, retiring after 35 years.
He also served as a member of the Army Active Guard Reserve.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
John was known as an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid New Castle sports fan.
John loved to spend time with his family and attend his grandchildren's activities and sporting events.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Amy Aiken and her husband, Gary, of New Castle, John S. Presnar and his wife, Gretchen, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Matthew Presnar and his wife, Kathy, of New Castle; his brothers, Stanley Presnar, David Presnar and Steven Presnar, all of New Castle; and his grandchildren, Zachary, Brooke, McKenna and John S. Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
