John F. Skiba John F. Skiba, 79, of 1240 Old State Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 4, 2019, at home with his family by his side.
John was born May 20, 1939, in New Castle. He was the son of the late Andrew and Josephine Gorgacz Skiba.
John was married to the former Marian J. Morris. They were married for 37 years. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2001.
John was of the Protestant faith. He was a graduate of Laurel High School, class of 1958.
Mr. Skiba retired after 40 years of service as a bus driver and mechanic at the Laurel School District. John spent all his life farming on his family's land and enjoyed being outside. He also collected tractors and equipment. John was a member of Moraine Area Tractor Club and loved going to auctions. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by two children, Maryann (Scott) Richards of New Castle and John A. (Renee) Skiba of Freeport, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Philip John Richards of New Castle and Reese M. Skiba of Freeport.
In addition to his parents and wife Marian, John was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Skiba.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A funeral service will be celebrated following calling hours in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Rev. Marsha Parish, pastor of the Lawrence County Hospice will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking memorial donations be made to Laurel FFA, 2497 Harlansburg Road, New Castle, Pa. 16101.

Mary Ann and John, Although we haven't seen each other in many, many years, I am your late mothers half-brother, John.
I grew up with your father always being a part of my family. I will always remember his wonderful deep laugh. His good humour. To me, he was always a gentle giant. Bless you and your families, and take care. JOHN MORRIS, Louisville, Ky.

Sorry for your lost I and my brothers will miss him going to truck pulls with use he was a good guy he will be miss but not forgotten

My Prayers are with your Family.
John was such a nice man,a good man.
I miss seeing him in the mornings driving the bus to take the Dutch to school. I always either passed him or was behind him.
God bless all of you and remember that even though he is know longer with you,he is with his savior and pain free. 🙏🏻❤️
