Joseph P. Boczar, 65, of 40 Oriole Dr. Youngstown, OH passed away the morning of June 10, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Boczar was born April 7, 1952 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Henry S. and Clara G. Ostrowski Boczar. Joseph was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He continued his education earning a Master's in Business from Youngstown State University. Joseph worked as a reimbursement analyst for Forum Health in Youngstown afterwards he worked as an accountant for Vibra Hospital also in the Youngstown area. Joseph was an avid outdoorsman; he also enjoyed gardening, fishing. Joseph loved all types of animals.
Joseph was a Veteran of the United States Navy; serving on the USS Independence CV 62 from November 20, 1972 until August 27, 1975. He completed his active reserve obligation on August 4, 1978 after finishing college. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy and the National Defense Medal for his service to his country.
Mr. Boczar is survived by two sisters, Donna J. (Dr. Richard) Nord of Canfield, OH, and Elaine B. (Harmon) Eggers of Bolivia, North Carolina; two nieces, Dr. Ashley (Shane) Nord Riley of Coraopolis, PA and Lauren Nord of Hershey, PA.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA 16101.
A private Blessing Service and Rite of Committal will be held Saturday in the funeral home. Pastor Frank D. Almade will officiate. Burial will be at Madonna Cemetery.
