Joseph D. Fuleno, 79, of New Castle passed away the evening of Dec. 31, 2017, at his residence.
Born on Oct. 3, 1938, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Bertha Elizabeth Searfoss Fuleno.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Patricia Motz, whom he married on Oct. 25, 1969.
A 1958 graduate of New Castle High School, Joseph had worked as a New Castle police officer in his earlier years. He then worked as a counselor for YDC and later worked as a security guard for the New Castle Public Library. Joseph also served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Fuleno III and wife Colleen, Jodi Dotts and husband Richard, and Melissa Rice, all of New Castle, and Stacey Spencer of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Keller, Trudy Hullet and Naomi Felger, and granddaughter, Kimmy Dotts.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Services will be conducted Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Chris Curtis of New Covenant Evangelical Church.
