Joseph H. Neely, Sr., 78, of Eastbrook passed away the afternoon of Oct. 9, 2017, at his residence.
Born on Sept. 3, 1939, in Mars, Pa., he was the son of Joseph and Grace Cappla.
He married Hollie Thomas Neely on Dec. 31, 1971, whom survives at home.
Mr. Neely was a graduate of Evans City High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic. Joseph was a self-employed blacksmith, a truck driver and farmer. He worked in various lumber yards until his retirement in 2005.
Among his favorite activities were spending time with his family and enjoying outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and horses. Joseph was also an Eagle Scout.
He was a member of Eastbrook Presbyterian Church.
Along with his wife he is survived by one son, Joseph "Hank" (Michelle) Neely Jr. of New Castle; one grandson, Joseph "Henry" Neely III; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vern Neely.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Burial will be in Eastbrook Presbyterian Cemetery.
