Lois I. Stambul Lois I. Stambul, 90, of Bessemer passed away the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at The Grove at New Castle.
Born April 1, 1928 in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Mary Hamed Hamett.
Lois was married to her beloved husband, Milan Stambul, for 67 years when he preceded her in death July 12, 2018.
Lois was known as being a very hard worker, who worked for several local industries over the years.
She was a member of Christ the King Parish.
Lois enjoyed bingo and will be remembered as always being a caretaker as she would help anyone.
Lois is survived by her foster son, Yuless Aucoin and his wife, Anita Louise, of Louisiana; her brother, Isaac Hamett; sisters, Marian Buttopietro, Katherine Hassen and Diane Hamett; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Roy, John and Abe Hamett, and her sister, Sylvia Blackner.
Honoring her wishes, there are no calling hours and the service is private.
Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.

So very sorry and saddened to hear of Lois’ passing. My heartfelt sympathy to her family. She was a wonderful human being with a rare kindness to all. The world is diminished with the loss of this rare and unique woman imbued with an affectionate humanity towards all. I loved her so. Rest In Peace, dear Lois.

Lois was an incredible woman. She was such a great friend to my Gram (Ann Sibeto) and she sure loved her Cowboys. She will be greatly missed. RIP

Sorry to hear that Lois is gone,but no longer in pain. I'm sure that there is a bingo hall in heaven. I worked with Lois through the Legion in Bessemer. God bless your family.
