Loyce W. "Ganga" Kwiat, 90, formerly of 110 N. Vine St., New Castle, passed away the afternoon of July 5, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Loyce was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Centerville, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Oliver and Ollie Goolsby Norris. Loyce was married to the late Chester Kwiat Sr. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1997. They were married for 50 wonderful years.
Mrs. Kwiat will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Loyce enjoyed quilting and was a member of a local quilter's guild for many years. She also enjoyed bird-watching and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by five sons, Oliver (Trudy) Kwiat of New Castle, Ernest Kwiat of Oakland, Calif., John (Christine) Kwiat of New Castle, Chester (Debra) Kwiat of Ferndale, Wash., and Arthur Kwiat of New Castle; daughter, Kristine (Alan) Baugh of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Billie (Edward) Touma and Jackie (Joseph) Millender, both of Texas; eight grandchildren, Clayton Kwiat, Kimberly Kwiat, Jason Kwiat, Josh Kwiat, Timothy Kwiat, Micah Kwiat, Abby Garalde and Rachel Baugh; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Chester, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Kwiat.
A private service was held at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St.
