Luella 'Weddie''s Story
Luella J. "Weddie" Carbone, 97, of New Castle passed away the morning of Jan. 27, 2018, at her residence.
Born in New Castle on June 12, 1920, Luella was the daughter of the late Carl M. and Elizabeth Houston Altman.
Preceding her in death on Feb. 23, 1999, was her husband of over 51 years, Louis Carbone, whom she married on April 1, 1947.
She is survived by her two children, Carol Natale of New Castle and Richard Carbone and his wife Elvira of New Wilmington; her brothers, Gerald Altman of New Castle, Orville Altman of Dayton, Ohio, and Homer Altman of Clarksville, Tenn.; her sister, Roberta Crum of Poland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Luella was preceded in death by her two sons, Harold O'Laughlin and his wife Donna and Ken Carbone; three sisters, Loretta (Rita) Llewellyn, Louisa Lombardo and Audrey Occhibone; six brothers, Lester Altman, Wilbur Altman, Mendall Altman, Howard Altman, Harley Altman and Paul Altman; and her son-in-law, Robert Natale.
There are no calling hours. Private services conducted by Rev. Dennis Bupp will be held for the family at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
