Margaret S. Buckner
Margaret S. "Peggy" Buckner, 86, of Pulaski passed away the early morning of Sept. 16, 2019, at her residence.
Born March 31, 1933, in Duryea, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret P. Strupcewski.
She married William J. Buckner on Feb. 1, 1960. He survives at home.
Mrs. Buckner graduated from Mansfield University with an education degree. She then furthered her education, at Penn State University, graduating with a master's degree in education.
She went on to teach at Holmdel School District in New Jersey as an elementary school teacher.
Peggy was of the Catholic faith.
Along with her husband, William, Peggy is survived by two sons, William A.H. Buckner of Allen, Texas, and Jonathan A.B. Buckner of Pulaski; a brother Anthony Strupcewski of Valley Cottage, New York; three grandchildren, Nicholas Tompkins, and Nathaniel and Zachary Buckner; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, preceding her in death were a brother, John Strupcewski; and three sisters, Marion Ann Chekan, Cyrstal E. Carey and Ann Rita Strupcewski.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. William LaVelle, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorial contribution may be offered in Peggy's name to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
