Margaret Courtwright, 98, of 150 Waugh Ave., New Wilmington, went to be with her Lord the morning of Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Born on Aug. 15, 1918, in Mussoorie, India, she was a daughter of Drs. Elizabeth and John C. Taylor, both serving as medical missionaries in India.
She was a graduate of Muskingum College and the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clyde Courtwright.
She is survived by a younger sister, Gladys McGarey; a younger brother, Gordon Taylor; two sons, Harry and Bill; a daughter, Jean Lyons; and four grandchildren, Sean Lyons, Elizabeth Lyons, Jennifer Courtwright and Colleen Courtwright.
She was preceded in death by two older brothers, John Taylor and Carl Taylor.
She was a member of the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church since moving to New Wilmington in 1981. Prior to 1981, she was a member of the Dormont Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.
The family requests that flowers be sent to the Smith Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boghpur Children's Home, a home in India for the children of lepers founded by her parents in 1945. Checks should be made out to Hope Inspired and sent to Hope Inspired,
