Martha Elizabeth Tunstall Lizzie, 98 of Trinity Living Center, Grove City, and formerly of the village of Leesburg, passed away at Trinity Living Center on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.
She was born in Springfield Township, Mercer County, on Sept. 16, 1919, to Joseph Tunstall and Annie Kokem Tunstall.
She married Wendell John "Bud" Lizzie on April 26, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1989.
Martha was a homemaker and member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church. She was active in her community and previously served as Judge of Elections for the West Springfield Township Precinct.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and bowling. Earlier in her career she worked as a clerk at the "5 & 10" store in Mercer and later worked as an Avon Lady.
Survivors include a daughter, D. Carole Peters of Grove City; sons, Thomas P. Lizzie of Phoenix, Ariz., and Allan L. and wife Sheryl Lizzie of Bellevue, Neb.; four grandchildren, Brian Peters, and Daniel, Matthew, and Rachel Lizzie.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Kenneth Tunstall; sister, Edna Horkey; and grandson, Sean Peters.
Funeral services will be at the Smith Funeral Home, village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pa. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hurst, pastor of the Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, presiding.
Family will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday , Oct. 31, from 4 until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
