Mary Reinhard Dominicis

May 09, 1931 - December 12, 2018

Mary Reinhard Dominicis Mary Reinhard Dominicis, 87, of New Castle died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She was born May 9, 1931, a daughter of Elsie Gillespie Reinhard and Carl B. Reinhard.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco Dominicis; her sister, Charlotte Cozza; and her brothers, Carl and Jude Reinhard.
Mary used her artistic gifts and creativity in her daily life and in no place was that more evident than her interior design and crafting - making her house a special, loving home filled with gracious touches, homemade wreaths, the aromas of candles and objects of beauty and balance she'd piece together with her own hands.
Over the years, her home was a special gathering place for family, near and far, and those memories will stay with us always.
Mary suffered the loss of her sister and best friend, Charlotte, and endured her own health challenges while her husband, Rocco, battled Parkinson's disease. These experiences gave her a unique compassion as a deep listener for her family during difficult times. Mary gave her all to nurture and fill the void whenever a family member was in need.
She is survived by her two children, Kathy Gilbert Forline and her husband, Ron Forline, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Ron Dominicis of Alexandria, Virginia; four grandchildren, Margo Dominicis and Bob Terek of Charleroi, Pennsylvania,, Megan Gilbert and Randy Sherman of Plano, Texas, Ryan Gilbert and Kristen of Poolesville, Maryland, and Kiley Gilbert Boggs and Andrew of Raleigh, North Carolina; and two stepgrandchildren, Maria Forline Jones and Reese of Bethesda, Maryland, and Emily Forline of Boston, Massachusetts, along with eight great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind two brothers, Dan Reinhard of Oak Park, Illinois, and Tom Reinhard of North Olmsted, Ohio; and two sisters, Helen French of New Castle and Madelon Logan of Rocky River, Ohio.
The family would like to thank Mary's niece, Christine McCune, for her love, devotion and care for eight years that allowed Mary and Rocco to stay in their home as long as possible. We are grateful to all the caregivers in New Castle who touched her life, as well as the wonderful Legacy Hospice team and the awesome staff at the Heritage Inn - both in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The family looks forward to a small private celebration of Rocco and Mary's lives in 2019.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mary's granddaughter, Margo, who is currently fighting breast cancer, at the Susan G. Komen 3-Day: search for Margo Dominicis.
