Mary C. Wiley, 74, of New Castle passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in the Grove at New Wilmington.
Mary was born on Sept. 4, 1942, in Ellwood City to the late Robert J. and Anne Bradley Yeykal. She had graduated from Mount Gallitzin High School in Baden and attended Duquesne University. She had worked at the WKST radio station in Ellwood City as a talk show host and at the Ellwood City Ledger and the Cranberry Review Journal as a journalist. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing and singing. Mary was also a co-founder and committee member of the Ellwood City Arts Crafts and Food Festival.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia (Shawn) Strope of Monaca, and Rachel Beachem of Ellwood City, her son Thaddeus (Tammy) Wiley of Largo, Florida; her grandchildren, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Isabella, Jonah, Eve, Liam, Kayla and Brianna; her great-granddaughter, Charlotte; her sisters, Clare Dereno of Pittsburgh, Lucy (Dr. Larry) Rahall of Ellwood City and Joan Wilson of Pittsburgh; her brothers, Joseph (Judy) Yeykal of Ellwood City, Anthony (Theresa) Yeykal of Allentown, John (Doris) Yeykal of Franklin, Mark Yeykal of Ellwood City and Thomas Yeykal of New Castle; and her son-in-law, Robert Aumer of Pittsburgh.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Anne Elizabeth Aumer in 2013; her sister, Anne Tyler; and her brother, Gerald Yaykal in infancy.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Holy Redeemer Cemetery with Pastor Cliff Reynolds officiating. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services.
