Michael Allen Work


Michael A. Work, 51, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2019, at his residence.
Mike was born on Jan. 31, 1968, in Sewickley to George Work and Lillie Work. Mike was proceeded in death by his father, George (Turk) Work.
He is survived by his wife, Dania Bambara-Work; his son, Michael (Brandi) Work; daughters, Katie (Brandon) Nelson, Leah Streng, Declan and Ayden Freed.
Mike will be sadly missed by his mother, Lillie Work and his siblings, Frank (Dicksie) Work of Ellwood City, Kathie (Chris) Sheridan of Florida, John (Teresa) Work of Mercer, Karen (Mike) Kendall of New Castle; his twin sister, Michelle (Herb) Holler of New Castle, Beverly (Kevin) Lazar of Pulaski, Jeffrey (Michelle) Work of Hermitage; two grandchildren; 22 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Also, the mother of Mike's children, Sandra Iorio-Work.
MIke was an active member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 66 for the past 30 years.
Mike was known as a harder worker, who's multi-talents were shared with his family, friends and even strangers. Mike enjoyed riding motorcycles, racing cars and the love of the outdoors.
Mike will always be remembered by his family for his great sense of humor, kind heart, generosity, willingness to help others and his creation of unique nicknames for anyone he came in contact with.
Mike was a fun loving, respected man and loving son, who loved spending time with his family and friends. HIs greatest joy came from spending time with his grandsons, Kaydon and Giovanni.
A viewing (wake) will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at Wharton-Herric Funeral Home, 951 Cliff Mine Road, Imperial, Pa.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Herman Union Cemetary, 3116 Frew Mill Road, New Castle.
