Mike J. Masters, 90, of New Castle passed away the morning of Dec. 5, 2017, at The Grove at New Wilmington.
Born on July 17, 1927, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Nocera Masters.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 58 years, the former Elvira Rocco, whom he married on Sept. 26, 1959.
After more than 40 years of working, Mike retired as a bricklayer for Sharon Steel. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church. Mike liked gardening and playing cards and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.
He always enjoyed a good meal and loved his wife's cooking. Mike will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his children, Deborah DeSantis and husband Michael of New Castle and Michael S. Masters and wife Heidi of Bessemer, Pa., and grandchildren, Amber DeSantis, Tailor DeSantis, Emilee Masters and Ashlee Masters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Vitale, Florence Russo and Mary Domenick, and brothers, John Masters and Nick Mastrantuoni.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Blessing services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon John Carran.
Interment will take place in St. Lucy Cemetery.
