Minnie's Story

Minnie S. Baldwin, 99, formerly of 211 W. Moody Ave., passed away the afternoon of Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Minnie was born on June 10, 1917, in New Castle. She was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Margaret Mae Kline Leathers.
Mrs. Baldwin was married to H. Raymond Baldwin. He preceded her in death in 1995. They were married on June 9, 1939, and spent 56 wonderful years together.
She was a graduate of Princeton School.
Mrs. Baldwin will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother.
Minnie was a member of AARP. Minnie was of the Protestant faith and attended Third United Presbyterian Church in New Castle.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly J. Cwynar of New Castle; two grandchildren, Susan (Ronald) Donston of Yorktown, Virginia, and Judith (Randall) Wills of State College; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren Donston, Emily Donston, Ryan Donston, Jason Wills and Diana Wills.
In addition to her husband, H. Raymond, she was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Ted Cwynar.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A funeral service will be celebrated following visitation at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Spicuzza of Third Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
The family is asking memorial contributions be made in her name to the Third Presbyterian Church, 1315 E. Washington St., New Castle, PA 16101.
