Myrtle E. Callen Myrtle E. Callen, 72, of New Castle passed away the morning of March 11, 2019, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Feb. 4, 1947, in Butler, she was a daughter of Howard and Elizabeth (Finley) Claypoole Jr.
Myrtle attended Moniteau High School.
A homemaker, she attended Wayside Emmanuel Church.
She is survived by a daughter, April (Dave) Fertig of New Castle; two sons, Randy (Nina) Callen of New Castle and Russell (Dee) Callen of Akron, Ohio; a brother, Ronald Claypoole of New Castle; a sister, Jean Keidel of New Castle; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her lifelong partner, Merle Ealy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Callen, and two sisters, Florence Burk and Bessie Stoner.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Bryan Warner of Wayside Emmanuel and Pastor Joseph Zingaro, family friend, officiating.

Hard to believe your gone your a very special lady and great mom one of the best people I got to know you are going to be missed by us all you lived a amazing life and you have 3 wonderful kids too gonna miss you lots

I cannot believe you're gone it's all a dream to me and I want to wake up but I know it's true but you are with God now he's taking care of you and there's no more pain I love you and I will miss you dearly R I P until we meet again I will be thinking of you every day waiting on that phone call from you just to see how I'm doing I can't pick up the phone and call you no more but I know you were caught up to heaven and now you are my angel and you're watching over me I love you and I will miss you dearly
