Norma Jean Miscimarra, 88, of Boardman, Ohio, and a native of New Castle, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Assumption Village in North Lima, Ohio.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in New Castle to Domenic and Madeline Vecchio, and was the oldest of eight children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Norma was a loving wife, mother and homemaker, who excelled at cooking and baking.
She was known to keep friends and family laughing with her quick wit, sense of humor and entertaining stories. She was well-versed in many subjects and loved reading, shelling, bird-watching, trivia and traveling to visit her loved ones across the country. Annual trips to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island were one of her family's favorite destinations.
She is survived by her children, Fred Miscimarra and wife, Anita, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Carole Abraham and husband, Ahron, of Kingston, Pennsylvania, Jonathan Miscimarra of New Castle and David Miscimarra of Boardman, Ohio; four grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Jonathan and Elizabeth; three great-grandsons, Wes, James and Milo; and seven siblings, Daniel, Ron, Richard, Domenic, Rita, Cheri and Maryann
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Vitus Church. The Rev. Victor Molka Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
