Paul Burton "Red" Hosler, 92, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at UPMC Jameson Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on Sept. 7, 1925, in Petersburg, Ohio, he was a son of the late Ernest and Charlotte Lins Hosler.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, the former Dolores Marchand, whom he married on March 31, 1948. They lived in the house that Paul built himself.
Paul had worked at Crane Company, Pentex, United Engineering, and P & LE Railroad. He later worked as the custodian for the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening and football.
Paul was a Free and Accepted 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Moose Lodge.
He and his wife traveled to Spain and the Grand Canyon, and he always looked forward to family get-togethers.
Paul will be greatly missed by his family and the best neighbors in the world.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his sister, Dorothy Luckage.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Miriam Warricks; and brothers, Fred, Clifford, Earl, Donald and John.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Interment will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
