Phyllis Eileen's Story
Phyllis Eileen Ratvasky, 91, of State Route 18, New Wilmington, died the morning of Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at the Jameson Care Center, Neshannock Township.
Born Feb. 18, 1926, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Watt Thompson and Anah Mae Hinkson Thompson,.
She married George Edward Ratvasky on July 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2010.
Mrs. Ratvasky graduated from Wilmington High School.
She formerly worked for the Depositors National Bank.
She was a member of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the Harvesters of Wilmington Township, Lawrence County.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane L. (Sam) Foltz of New Wilmington; three sons, Larry G. (Christine) Ratvasky of Poland, Ohio, Dennis A. (Leslie) Ratvasky of Pulaski and Richard B. (Joyce) Ratvasky of Volant; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Tomson, Mary Oral Rodgers and Phoebe Root; and a brother, Mason Thompson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Hickman, pastor of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Neshannock Cemetery.
