Rhonda Lynne Wagner Rhonda Lynne Stone Wagner, 65, of New Wilmington passed away at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019.
She was born May 19, 1953, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Robert G. Stone and Helen Scheaffer Stone.
She married Lee A. Wagner on Oct. 25, 1974. He survives at the residence.
Rhonda was a homemaker until her children went to elementary school. She was then employed by the New Wilmington Post Office, retiring in 2018.
Rhonda pursued her passion to help people by becoming an EMT in 1993 and, in 2001, became a paramedic where she volunteered her evenings and weekends serving her community as a member of the Volant Volunteer Fire Company and New Wilmington Volunteer Fire Department ambulance service.
She was an avid skier for many years.
She was a member of the Red Knights PA 24, and was a golfer who enjoyed her ladies league while being surrounded by good friends. She was an avid animal lover.
In addition to her husband; she is survived by a son, Christopher (Mary Rose) Wagner of New Castle; daughter, Dawn Wagner of New Wilmington; sister, Rebecca (Clint) Campbell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and three grandchildren, Cody Wagner, Colton Wagner and Henlee Wagner, all of New Castle.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and first-born grandson, whom she cherished, Chase Christopher Wagner.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Rebecca Rosengarth presiding.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Volant Volunteer Fire Company or the New Wilmington Volunteer Fire Department.

I just heard of Rhonda’s passing, I worked with her at the post office and she was always so helpful and had great tips and tricks.

I'm so sorry for your loss. She stopped out for a visit not long ago and we reminisced and laughed about growing up in the same neighborhood in New Castle. I'm so glad I had the time to spend with her that day.

It was a privilege knowing the Wagners and Rhonda always impressed us with her strength of character and ability. She was a no-nonsense, yet sweet lady. We skied with them and enjoyed our friendship with them.

Sorry for your loss Rhonda was a great lady. She helped my mom after her major surgery. Just a great lady. Prayers for all the family
