Richard Ralph Cotelesse Sr., 57, of New Smyrna Beach died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 as the result of a vehicle accident.
Born in New Castle to Camillo Cotelesse Jr. and Anne Marie Largo Cotelesse, Richard moved to the New Smyrna Beach area five years ago from New Castle.
Richard was the founder of C's Waffles restaurants since 1992.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, devoted family man, and loving father and grandfather. Richard was one of the most kindest, gentlest and friendliest person that touched the lives of everyone he met.
Survivors include a daughter, Danielle Cotelesse of New Smyrna Beach; three sons, Richard Cotelesse of New Castle, Joshua (Rebecca) Cotelesse of Edgewater, and Louis Voto of Edgewater; nine grandchildren, Dasia, Kalee, Joshua Jr., Isabella, Richard III and Contessa Cotelesse, Kavon and Devonte Eggleston, and Dlanie Evans; fiancee, Kim Chhay; a sister, Lorin (Christy) Marsolo, of Johns Creek, Georgia; four brothers, Ralph (Anna) Cotelesse of Port Orange, Christopher (Marisol) Cotelesse, of New Smyrna Beach, Brian (Eileah) Cotelesse of Boardman, Ohio, and Cory (Leah) Cotelesse of New Castle; his mother, Patricia DiBacco and formerly married to Stacy DiBacco.
Richard was preceded in death by his birth parents, Camillo and Anne Cotelesse; a brother, Camillo III; and his father, Andrew DiBacco.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, with the Rev. Patrick Quinn, T.O.R., officiating.
