Richard's Story

Richard McCluskey, 59, of Loma Linda, Missouri, passed away following a worthy battle with heart disease.
He was born in Grove City to Harry (Herk) and Stella McCluskey.
In 1985, he married Sharon Patterson in New Castle.
Prior to his heart transplant in 1999, Richard worked for Blair Masonry in Plain Grove, Pennsylvania and Old Forge Tools in New Wilmington.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood carving.
Rich was a member of the Decatur Masonic Lodge, where he previously served as Master Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Kerry Kolar and husband, Jamie, of Ambridge, Danielle McCluskey and husband, Barry Wimer, of Joplin Missouri, and Kayla Carnavale of San Diego, California; four grandchildren, Kascia, Kalen, Blaize and Beau; and two brothers, Jason McCluskey of Volant and Doug McCluskey of Fredonia, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kevin and Mike.
Richard wasn't a flowery kind of guy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS.net) or to the Cleveland Clinic Cardiac Transplant Program.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Friday before the 3 p.m. service at Monett Community Church, Monett, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life service will also be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Landmark Hotel in Mercer.
