VIENNA, Ohio - Richard G. Miller, 72, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 29, 2017, at his home.
Richard was born on Jan. 1, 1945, in New Castle, Pa., a son of the late George and Louise (Lysiak) Miller.
He was a 1962 graduate of Brookfield (Ohio) High School and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. While serving his country during the Vietnam era, he earned the National Defense Service Medal. After his honorable discharge, he faithfully participated in veteran activities. He worked in the steel industry for many years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed woodworking, antiques and classic cars, and was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard will be deeply missed by his brother, Robert Edward Miller of Cortland, Ohio; his sisters, Mary Lou King of Worthington, Ohio, and Jean Miller of Cortland, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Jan. 3, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes' Madasz Chapel, located at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road, Brookfield, officiated by American Legion Post 540. Friends and family may visit an hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Burial will take place at Vienna Township Cemetery.
