It is with great sadness that the family of Richard James "Dicky" Stoffel announces his passing. He died suddenly in his sleep at his home in New Castle on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.
Dicky was born in Rochester, Pa., on Jan. 18, 1950. He was a former resident of Midland, Pa.
He worked for Crucible Steel and later for Ellwood Quality Steels Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Vincent Stoffel Jr. and Sophia Katich Stoffel.
Dicky is lovingly remembered by his sister, Marcy Groll (Frank) of Mount Lebanon; brother, George Stoffel (Helen) of Lakewood, Ohio; nephew, Geoffrey Stoffel, Fort Gratiot, Mich.; nieces, Aimee Sayles (Richie) of Bay Village, Ohio, and Lauren Stoffel of North Olmsted, Ohio; devoted friend Robert "Bobby" Rumcik of New Castle; and his longtime friend, Paulette Cohara Vranich of Hermitage.
Dicky enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His wit and great sense of humor brought smiles to many. He was a sports enthusiast and especially liked golf and watching football and horse racing. He will be dearly missed by all.
