Robert C. McBurney, 80, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at The Villages Regional Hospital.
Robert "Craig" McBurney was born in New Castle on June 1, 1936, to Robert McBurney and Alberta "Bert" Shanor.
He married Nancy, his high school sweetheart, on Aug. 23, 2003.
He graduated from New Castle High School in June 1954, during which time he was an outstanding tennis and basketball player.
He was a veteran of the Army and was honorably discharged on Oct. 17, 1958.
Robert worked many years in the textile business in Puerto Rico, until he retired back to New Castle, and later moved to The Villages.
He was passionate about golf and football.
He was caring, compassionate and funny, but above all was his love for his family.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert McBurney; his dad, Robert H. McBurney; and his mother, Alberta Shanor.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nancy McBurney; his daughter, Yvonne McBurney and her husband, Pedro Vidal; his son, Edward C. McBurney and his wife, Elizabeth Trullenque; his brother, C. Jay McBurney and his wife, Tracy; and his grandchildren, Elena and Edward McBurney.

There will be no visitation.
A private family service will be held on Saturday in New Castle.
