Samuel  Clark


Samuel Roosevelt Clark, 82, of Clark Lane, Edinburg, died at Sharon Regional Hospital on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019. He was born on Nov. 7, 1936, in Mahoningtown to the late Roy and Bessie Hammaker Clark. He married Linda Wheale in 1960 and later married C. Lynn Clark in 1985.
Sam served in the U.S. Army. He later worked for C.D. Ambrosia for 32 years as a high lift operator before retirement. Sam later turned his front yard into a replica of the Botanical Gardens. He soon after decided to take a job with the Mahoning Township Road Department, where he worked from 1991 until 2013 when he retired at age 77.
Sam was a devoted father, and claimed the three children in his second marriage, loving them as his own. His passion was hunting but only the 10-point bucks, fishing, walking in the woods, collecting model cars, cooking, wood working and spending his days with his beloved dog "Scooter" but above all else, he loved with all his heart!
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his five children, Samuel J. "Jim" Clark, Mary Rose (Chris) Wagner, Jay (Hallie) Fry, Sheri (Patrick) Guerrieri, Kimberly (Rick) Babuka; 12 grandchildren, Tina (Mike) Garrett, Michelle Clark and fiancé (Robert Hurtt), Cassandra Clark, TJ Fry, Morgan Fry, Kathryn and James Guerrieri, Colton Clark Wagner, Cody Wagner, Henlee Wagner, Rikki and John Babuka; six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Cory, Aiden, Alex, Zoey and Logan; three sisters, Shirley "Cookie" Devite, Arlene Devite, Ella Mae Simmons; and one brother, Richard Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Chase Christopher Wagner.
Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, PA. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rebecca Rosengarth of the New Wilmington United Methodist church officiating.
