Sara Kathryn's Story
Sara Kathryn Coulter, 93, of Kenneth Avenue, New Castle, died on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at her residence of natural causes.
She was born Dec. 19, 1923, in Butler to the late R. Paul and Ada Mowrey Reitz.
She married John Bernard Coulter on Nov. 15, 1947, and he died Jan. 26,1978.
Mrs. Coulter operated the restaurant at the New Wilmington Live Stock Auction from 1970 to 1988.
She was a member of Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church.
She graduated from Shenango High School in 1941.
She enjoyed her membership in Sparklers of New Castle.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon L. Coulter of New Castle; a son, James D. (Debbie) Coulter of New Wilmington; two daughters-in-law, Bridget Coulter of New Wilmington and Dian Coulter of Mercer; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and John Coulter; and two brothers, Kenneth and Bill Reitz.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Yergan officiating.
Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church.
