Sol R. Moldover, 98, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, in Sarasota.
Born March 21, 1919, in Russia, he was a son of Samuel and Esther Zahm Moldover.
He was preceded in death on March 17, 2002, by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evelyn Beck Moldover, whom he married on July 11, 1943.
Sol served with the Jewish War Veterans during World War II.
He was the co-owner of Majestic Wallpaper and Paint Company in New Castle for 34 years.
He was a member of the 32nd Degree Masons, American Legion and BPOE Elks Club 69.
He is survived by two nieces, Andrea Moldover and Susan (Dan) Aubel; a great-niece, Faith (Jesse) D'Amico; a great-great-niece and nephew, River and Saige; and a close friend, Richard Williams, all of Sarasota.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Moldover and Richard Moldover; and a brother, Sanford Moldover.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Rabbi Howie Stein will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Israel Cemetery.
