Steven M. Herman, 39, of Bessemer, Pa., passed away at his residence unexpectedly on Feb. 18, 2017.
Steven was born in New Castle, Pa., on Nov. 5, 1977, the son of Joseph and Barbara Quear Herman. Steven was a graduate of Mohawk High School, class of 1996, and had attended BCC for a year. He had been employed as a mechanic at Herman's Garage for several years.
Steven had a deep passion for writing and had been in the process of publishing some of his works. He enjoyed astronomy and hitting the local flea markets and yard sales looking for treasures. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends. In the springtime, Steven enjoyed searching for mushrooms. But as all knew, his daughters were the biggest passion in his life.
Steven is survived by his father, Joseph Herman of Pulaski, Pa.; mother, Barbara Herman of Bessemer; daughter, Marliyah Dottle of New Castle, Pa.; daughter, Emily Herman of Pulaski, Pa.; sister, Jennifer Herman and her fiance Tom Stevens of Youngstown, Ohio; brother, Joseph (Tanya) Herman of New Castle; and two granddaughters.
Steven was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his uncle, Donny Quear.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home in Bessemer, Pa. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church in Bessemer.
