Tamula's Story

Tamula R. Henderson, 54, of New Castle passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, at her residence.
Born on March 2, 1963, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Eula and Armelia Dixon Henderson.
A graduate of West Virginia University, Tammy had worked as a social worker and aid counselor for the YDC.
She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
Tammy was a standout track star for New Castle High School and West Virginia University where she still holds the indoor record for the 55-meter dash and 300-meter dash.
In addition to her parents, Tammy is survived by her son, Daresse Henderson of New Castle; her brother, Roger L. (Stacey) Henderson Sr. of Atlanta; her sister, Claressia (Anthony) Leaks of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Daria Henderson and Cherish Robinson; special friend, Chris Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Darien Henderson.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church, 616 W. North St.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, officiated by the Rev. Fletcher Hudson.
Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
