Thelma's Story

Thelma Mae Pearson, 81 of New Wilmington passed away at UPMC Horizon in Farrell, Pa., on Thursday, July 6, 2017.
She was born on May 2, 1936, in New Castle, Pa., to Frank Griffith Barr Sr. and Rosella Lewis Barr.
She married Bernard "Bud" Anthony Pearson on May 26, 1956.
She was a beautician; an original member of the New Wilmington Community Club; member of The Neshannock Presbyterian Church in New Wilmington for over 52 years, where she served on the Board of Deacons; the Tuesday Afternoon Bowling League; and Tuesday Evening Golf League.
For over 50 years, she was a member of the 500 Card Club.
She liked fishing, gardening and reading and was a fan of Pittsburgh sports including the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. She most enjoyed spending time with her family; she loved her sons and attending her grandkids sporting events.
Survivors include her husband Bud at home; three sons, Mark B. (Janice) of New Wilmington, Michael D. (Lisa) of New Wilmington and Matthew J. (Patricia) of Butler; brother, Frank G. Barr Jr. of Venice, Fla.; sister, Gladys Mechling of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Diana), Rachel Heines (Tom), Luke, Ben (Ana), and Austin; and special nieces, Vicki and Pam.
A private service will be observed with the Rev. William Stone of the Neshannock Presbyterian Church presiding. Interment will be in Neshannock Cemetery.
