Thelma E. Strealy, 75 of Bessemer, Pa., passed away at her residence on the evening of Nov. 22, 2017.
Thelma was born in Salem, Ohio, on April 14, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Angeline Shonts McDowell. Thelma married her first husband, William Boren, who passed away in 1989.
Thelma worked in housekeeping at the Highland Hall Care Center for 20-plus years. There she met Richard D. Strealy, and they were wed on Oct. 7, 1995.
Thelma was of the Presbyterian faith.
Thelma leaves behind her husband Richard; children, Tracey (David) Brown and Paula Larsen; stepchildren, Cindy Green, Robert Strealy, Dixie Eichenauer, Mary Hewitt and Fran Burr; sister, MaryAnn (Bill) McGuckin; brother, Jerry (Kathy) McDowell; sister-in-law, Marsha McDowell; grandchildren, James and Arianna Brown and Suzi Hare; 13 stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bill, son Wesley; brother, Robert; stepson, Ricky; stepdaughter, Debbie; and stepgreat-grandchild, Ricky.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at 5 p.m. at the Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church. Rev. Steve Plylor will be officiating. Family will receive well-wishers from 3 to 5 p.m.
