Thomas A. Reiter, 46, formerly of 1161 Sipe Road, Volant, passed away the evening of Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at his residence.
Thomas was born Jan. 7, 1971, in New Castle. He was a son of the late Thomas D. Cratty. His mother, Katharina Kolaric, survives at home.
Mr. Reiter was of the Catholic faith.
He was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1988.
Mr. Reiter worked as foreman for several years at Universal Refractories and U.S. Can Company in Wampum.
Thomas enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, music and other outdoor activities. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandson, Ryan.
In addition to his mother, Katharina, he is survived by two sons, Nicholas A. Reiter of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania, and Joseph M. Jamison of New Castle; brother, Joseph (Rebecca) Medved of New Castle; six sisters, Heidi (Bob) Cuscino, Ingrid (George) Fedor, Rosalie May, Barbara (Alan) Houston, Kathy Reiter and Christine (Bob) Eakin, all of New Castle; and grandson, Ryan Reiter of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Reiter was preceded in death by his father, Thomas D. Cratty; and a sister, Magda Shelar.
Private funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. The Rev. Richard Nero will officiate.
Burial will be at a later date.
