Velma P. Kingery, a longtime resident of New Wilmington, passed away quietly in her sleep at 6:35 p.m. June 7, 2017.
Mrs. Kingery had been a resident at the Shenango Home on the Green for the past four years. She was 89 years old.
Mrs. Kingery was born in Greenville, Pa., on Aug. 9, 1927, to Roy and Inez Ross Dawes. She was a 1945 graduate of the former Penn High School in Greenville.
Mrs. Kingery was married to the late Donald Kingery in August 1948. Mr Kingery preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1975.
Mrs. Kingery was a homemaker who enjoyed family and friends. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kingery was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and immediate family. Her surviving children are Fred Kingery of New Wilmington, William Kingery of Beaufort, N.C., Roy Kingery of Hatteras, N.C., and Tami Wilson of Volant. Immediate surviving family is Cecilia Kingery Miller of New Wilmington.
There will be a church service at the United Methodist Church, 125 S. Mercer St., New Wilmington, Pa. 16142 held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of New Wilmington.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 12:30 p.m. following the June 16 church service at the home of Ron and Tami Wilson, Beagle Club Road, Volant.
