Virginia's Story

Virginia Monsour, 92, formerly of West Northview Avenue, passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on April 2, 1925, in Four States, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Slamen.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles (Muzzy) Monsour, whom she married on June 4, 1950.
Virginia was a member of the El Fityet Allaween Syrian Association Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved to bake and cook.
In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her children, Chuck Monsour and wife, Bonnie, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Roger Monsour and wife, Barbara, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Lisa Perrotta and husband, Lewis, of New Castle; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Abraham, Alex, Isaac, Roger and Frank Slamen; and sisters, Fannie Alexander, Katherine Slamen and Mary Sheraff.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, conducted by Michael Allay.
Interment will take place in Valley View Cemetery.
