Virginia J. Slodowy, 92, formerly of 102 S. Scotland Lane, passed away the evening of Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Avalon Nursing Home.
Virginia was born March 28, 1925, in New Castle. She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Grala Dombeck.
Virginia was married to Leon A. Slodowy Sr. He survives at home. They were married for 55 wonderful years.
Mrs. Slodowy was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended St. Vitus Parish.
Virginia was a graduate of the Shenango High School, class of 1943.
Mrs. Slodowy will be remembered by her family as a loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family.
In addition to her husband, Leon, she is survived by her daughter, Helen A. Slodowy of New Castle.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leon A. Slodowy Jr.; two brothers, Stanley and Walter Dombeck; and three sisters, Mary Daush, Josephine Petrick and Stella Kromka.
Calling hours will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St.
A Blessing service and Rite of Committal will be held at 11:30 a.m. following visitation at the funeral home. The Rev. Frank D. Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Parish, will officiate.
Burial will be in SS. Philip and James Cemetery.
