Wanda's Story

Wanda Jeanette Buchanan, 90, formerly of 210 N. Cedar St., passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Care Center.
Wanda was born July 10, 1927, in Ellwood City. She was a daughter of the late Richard R. "Pete" and Amy E. Miller Grim.
Mrs. Buchanan was of the Protestant faith.
Wanda attended Eastbrook High School. Wanda's love of crafts and quilting, which she gifted to many of her friends and family through the years, brought much happiness to all. Wanda loved horses, traveling and playing bingo.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. (Earl "Skip") Davis of New Castle; three sons, Karlton Gene McCommons of Mt. Jackson, Howard B. (Marlene) McCommons of Miamisburg, Ohio, and David R. (Shirley) Jones of Sterling, Virginia; three sisters, Eula Stevenson of New Wilmington, Opal McClymonds of Portersville and Ella Barkley of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her infant son, Clinton B. McCommons; son, Staff Sergeant Martin R. McCommons; brother, Hollis Grim; and daughter-in-law, Elaine Galanski McCommons.
Calling hours are 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St.
A funeral service and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 11 a.m. following visitation. The Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate.
Burial will be in Volant Cemetery.
