Wayne Messner

Wayne Messner, 84, of New Castle passed away on Aug. 18, 2019.
He was born on Jan. 7, 1935, in New Castle to LeRoy and Elwina (Dodds) Messner, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Karen, and granddaughter, Ella Kae.
He is survived by two sons, Dan (Lisa) and Thomas; two grandchildren, Tommy and Joseph; and a brother, Dave (Gretchen).
Wayne served our country as a member of the Army.
A lifelong resident of New Castle, Wayne enjoyed his community. Wayne loved nature and the outdoors, including hunting and golfing - even into his final days when he enjoyed televised golf and gripped a golf club just three weeks ago.
Wayne had a great sense of humor and will be remembered well for always having a way of making people laugh.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Castle View Memorial Park.
