William H. Scully Jr., 70, of New Castle passed away the morning of Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on July 15, 1947, in Beaver Falls, he was a son of Mary I. Caparoula Scully of New Castle and the late William H. Scully Sr.
William had worked as a conductor for B&O Railroad and later retired from CSX Railroad.
He also served his country as a member of the Navy.
William was a member of the St. Vitus Church and belonged to the Italian American War Veterans.
He enjoyed fishing and shooting pool.
In addition to his mother, William is survived by his children, William H. Scully III and wife, Lisa, of New Castle, Kristen N. Scully of New Castle, Rosangela Tester of Fremont, Ohio, and John R. Scully II of Willard, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and former wife, Jodi Burks of Williard, Ohio.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, John R. Scully.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Blessing services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Mr. Matthew Hawkins, St. Vitus Parish Seminarian. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
