Zygmunt S. Wajler Zygmunt S. Wajler, 93, of Neshannock Twp. passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, in UPMC Jameson.
Mr. Wajler was born May 2, 1925, in Poturzyn, Poland to the late Jozef and Stanislawa Biernacka Wajler. Zygmunt married the former Jean Konopka on Oct. 4, 1958. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together this past week.
Zygmunt was Roman Catholic and a long standing member of St. Camillus DeLillis Parish. He was owner of WKW Tool & Die Company in New Castle and retired after 27 years. He loved his four grandchildren very much. Zygmunt was very meticulous and loved to fix things around the house. Mr. Wajler was part of the underground resistance in Poland, called the Armia Krajowa during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; son, Zygmunt S. (Ann) Wajler Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Renata J. Gagliardo of New Castle, Bonita J. (Don) Melonio of Mars, and Laura I. Wajler of Lowellville, OH.; and four grandchildren, Frank Gagliardo, Joe Gagliardo, Priya E. Melonio, and Serena O. Melonio.
In addition to his parents, Zygmunt was preceded in death by his brother, Leszek S. Wajler; and sister, Irena Otlowski.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. for St. Camillus DeLillis Parish, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Michael Peck will officiate. Burial will be in S.S. Phillip & James Cemetery. Online condolences may be viewed or given at nogafuneralhoem.com.
