Alice M. Welther, 94, formerly of East Moody Avenue, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Monday, May 22, 2017, at The Grove at New Wilmington.
Born in Williamson, West Virginia, on March 2, 1923, she was a daughter of John and Elizabeth Krampf Welther.
After 38 years of service, Alice retired as a secretary from Girl Scouts of Beaver-Castle. She was also employed by Seavy's Studio for seven years as a photo oil colorist.
In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and volunteering.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a sister, Ethel Hamilton of Sarasota, Florida; a brother, John Welther of New Castle; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Violet Stertzbach.
As per Alice's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Park.
