David J. Falatko, known to his friends as " OSO," 61, of Taylor Township went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Born on Sept. 14, 1955, in New Castle, he was a son of John M. Falatko and Joyce K. Pavkovich Falatko.
Surviving him is his beloved wife of 30 years, the former Miss Robin Hedlund, whom he married on May 29, 1987.
David was a self-employed contractor.
He was affiliated with the Victory Christian Center.
He earned his bachelor's degree in Christian Counseling.
An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a Pittsburgh sports fan.
David was a loving man, who spent years balancing work, God and family, not necessarily in that order. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend and mentor to many.
He enjoyed many things in life, but most of all, he loved helping things grow. His sons and daughters, as well as his garden are a testament to this. David's sense of humor and patient and loving spirit will be remembered by all the many people he touched during his life.
In addition to his wife, mother and father, David is survived by his children, Rudy Vellone, Heather and her husband, Wayne Ferrell, Johnna and her husband, William Pocza, Jarrod Falatko, Caitlyn Falatko and T.J. Palipchak; his brother, Michael Falatko; his grandchildren, Zachary and Brayden Ferrell, Kaileah, Nate, and Haley Vellone; as well as two great-grandchildren, Alex and Spencer.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum.
