David C. Peterson, 70, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Canton, Ohio, and Edinburg, Pennsylvania, died the morning of Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, in Fort Myers.
He was born Dec. 27, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of David and Renia (Howard) Peterson. He lived in the area most of his life.
He was a 1965 graduate of Mohawk High School and was a Marine Corp. veteran of the Vietnam War.
David was a retired millwright for Commercial Intertech and had also retired from WCI Steel in Warren, Ohio.
He was a member of the VFW in Navarre, Ohio, and had been a lifetime member of Mahoning Sportsman Association.
Besides his wife, the former Ruth Kelly, whom he married in 1968, he leaves his daughter, Chris (Jimi) Dickens of Massillon, Ohio; his son, Greg Peterson of Edinburg; two grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua Dickens; two sisters, Marsha Luc of Lowellville, Ohio, and Susan Buchanan of Edinburg; and two brothers, Russell of Naples, Florida, and Keith of Lowellville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Peterson.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
