Donald Edward Jones, 85, of Five Points Road, Edinburg, died the evening of Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Avalon Nursing Home in New Castle.
Don was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania on Sept. 7, 1931, to the late Benjamin Forest and Twila Marie Keefer Jones.
He married the former Dorothy Jean Baker.
Don served our country in the Navy.
He retired as the owner operator of his truck.
He was a 75-year member of the New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the choir for the last 60 years.
He enjoyed traveling and bowling, and most important was his family.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Darlene M. Robison of New Castle and Denise J. Rowan of Helena, Montana; three sons, Dan E. Jones of Stafford, Virginia, Dennis W. Jones of Edinburg and Donald A. Jones of Pulaski Township; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, David; two sisters, Eleanor and Margaret; and a brother, Dale Jones.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Doug Runyan, pastor of the church, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bedford Presbyterian Church choir.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
