Edward M. "Ed" Reynolds, formerly of New Castle, Pa., passed away in Sarasota, Fla., on April 7, 2017, at the age of 92.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, June Alexander Reynolds; his parents, Edward and Florence Reynolds; and sisters, Grace Wilcox and Alice Kennedy.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Reynolds of six years. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Greg, and daughter in-law, Sherrie (nee Slater), of Solon, Ohio; his daughter, Kathleen Rothen of Sarasota, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Ed was born in New Castle, Pa., on May 2, 1924. He graduated from Union High School. Ed proudly served as a 1st Lieutenant and B-17 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed by Flowline Corporation for 38 years, where he retired as Vice President of Manufacturing. Ed was Elder and Clerk of Session at Second United Presbyterian Church. He also served on the boards of the Salvation Army, American Red Cross and The Arthur MaGill Church Community Center. He was the past President of the local Lions Club, a member of the American Legion and Elks Club, and chaired the Blood Bank at Oakwood Manor in Sarasota. Ed was an avid golfer, fisherman, and above all, a Christian man who was loved by many.
