Elaine's Story

Elaine Carol (Ray) Fleeger, 87, of Greenville, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of Saturday, March 25, 2017, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville.
She was born in New Castle on April 7, 1929, to the late Harvey Brainard and Alla Myrtle (McCullough) Ray.
Elaine worked in retail sales at various department stores, including JC Penny's and Elma's in both New Castle and Greenville.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Greenville, and enjoyed talking to her friends and neighbors about the Bible. Elaine and her husband loved traveling the country together, especially in their motorhome. She also enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, needlework and sewing.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Clyde Perry Fleeger, Jr. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past February.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Kay and her husband, David, of Greenville, and Laurie Debelak of New Castle; a sister, Nancy Kirkwood and her husband, Raymond, of New Castle; four grandchildren, Melissa Kay of Greenville, Michael Kay and his wife, Teresa, of Rineyville, Kentucky, Eric Debelak of Ford City, Pennsylvania, and Amber Debelak of Ford City; four great grandchildren, Tara Kay and her fiance, James Binion Jr., of Masury, Ohio, Brian Kay of Fowler, Ohio, William Kay of Rineyville and Tristina Kay of Rineyville; and two great-great grandchildren, Christopher Kay and Annastasia Kay, both of Masury.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Ann Fleeger, and a sister, Donna Leeds.
A private committal service and burial will be held with the family at Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville.
A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2885 Hann Hill Rd., Hermitage, Pa. 16148, on Sunday, April 2nd, with Brother Marco Bandi officiating.
