Elaine M. Mally, 77, of Meadowview Boulevard, New Castle, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1939, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Anthony and Alda (Gione) Ryan.
She was married to her loving husband, Kent R. Mally on Jan. 16, 1987. He survives in New Castle.
Mrs. Mally was a manager for Avon for 10 years.
She loved her faith and the Lord, and was very active in her churches everywhere she lived. She worked for the Sisters of the Poor in Delaware and volunteered with Catholic Charities and other Catholic organizations, especially St. Clements Church in Plant City, Florida, where she lived for a time.
Mrs. Mally loved to cook and surprise people with all her foods. She also enjoyed gardening and singing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Valerie L. Sansone Stevenson of New Castle, Toni C. Sansone Ullrich of New Castle, Leslie A. Sansone Bullano and her husband, Joseph, of New Castle, and John J. Sansone and his wife, Mirella, of New Castle; five stepchildren; a brother, Albert Ryan of New Castle; a sister, Marlene Wheatley of Copley, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Ryan Jr. and Daniel Ryan; and a sister, Delores Ryan.
A private funeral Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Vitus Church. The Rev. Joe Luisi of North American Martyrs Church of Monroeville officiated.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.
