Emily Geravia Wright, 75, of Columbus, Ohio, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
Known to most people as Geravia or "Geri," she was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on April 18, 1941, a daughter of Kira Evelyn Walthall and Coleman Cook.
After graduating from New Castle High School, she served in the Air Force.
She married Kenneth Lane and had two daughters, Yvette Harris and Renita Lane. Geravia later married William Wright.
She worked as a toll collector on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, William A. Dodson Sr.
She is survived by her daughters; her sister, Angela Dodson and brother-in-law, Michael Days; her brother, William A. Dodson Jr.; her sister-in-law, Judythe Dodson; her uncle, Robert J. Walthall; her four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four nephews and many cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, 537 Bell Ave., New Castle, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Charlotte A. Sheffield Funeral Home, 454 Chestnut St., New Castle.
